BalletMany say ballet is the center of all dance. It is typically started at a young age in which dancers learn the basics of this fine art and build strength in their muscles to take on its complex movements. Evolution is *Accredited by International Ballet Consortium (IBC). Through IBC, dancers are offered an organized curriculum and annual exams to assist is level placing and certify dancers in order to receive scholarships.

Hip HopRefers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This class is a fun, energetic class that focuses on a dancer’s endurance and strength. Besides learning new choreography every class, students continue to work on their sharpness, energy, freestyle and performance.

JazzJazz dance is best compared to a theatrical dance performed on stage like Broadway. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance. Jazz steps include basic turns including chaines, piques, pirouettes, jazz turns, grande jetes, turning jumps, and tour jetes, etc.

Lyrical/ContemporaryLyrical dance is a dance style that blends elements of ballet and jazz dance. Lyrical dance is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster -- although not as rapidly executed as jazz dance. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. Contemporary dance stresses versatility and improvisation, unlike the strict, structured nature of ballet. Contemporary dancers focus on floorwork, using gravity to pull them down to the floor.
To excel in these styles, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.

Acro/TumblingAcro dance is a form that includes acrobatic movements. The gymnastic technique that acrobatic dancers can incorporate into a dance routine include handstands, cartwheels, aerials and handsprings. While acrobatics or gymnastics are not forms of dance, they can become dance techniques if the dancer adds rhythm in time to the music with true dance steps. *Students that register for the class ONLY, may not perform in our events, for the performances require dance training too.

Breakdance: (also called breaking, b-boying or b-girling) This is a type of dance influenced by hip hop culture. It is a style of acrobatic dancing originating in the mid-1970s, often performed to rap music characterized by intricate footwork, pantomime, spinning headstands, tumbling, and elaborate improvised movements.

Latin Combo: This class rotates with Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata dance styles. Each class may include one or all styles within the 60min. class. Salsa portion is geared more toward Casino style. A partner is preferred but not required,

Stretch/Technique: This class is to aid dancers in executing their flexibility goals and body conditioning along with perfecting their jumps, leaps and turns for ballet, jazz, and lyrical/contemporary classes.

Acting: Students are trained in public speaking, audition techniques, monologues, scenes, intro to film and more.

Music: All students are trained classically with music theory and how to read music. We also offer preparation for the Annual Guild Exams and Music Recitals.
